Who handles your information

Analytics
This website uses Umami Analytics to understand which pages are visited and help improve the archive. It is used only to measure website traffic and usage, not for advertising or tracking visitors across different websites.
Umami’s analytics script does not use cookies. The information collected may include:
- pages visited and referring websites;
- browser, operating system, browser language and device type;
- screen resolution and approximate country or region;
- date and time of visits, page views and usage statistics;
- technical session identifiers used to measure visits.
IP addresses are used to derive approximate location and technical session identifiers, but are not stored in Umami’s analytics database. This website does not assign named user identifiers or create visitor accounts.
Umami is self-hosted on a VPS managed by the website operator. Analytics data remains under the operator’s control and is not sold or shared for advertising. Hosting providers may process technical information as part of operating the servers.
Data retention
Our retention policy limits analytics records to a maximum of 25 months from collection. The website operator is responsible for manually deleting records older than this limit; automatic deletion is not currently configured.
Technical logs and contact messages
Hosting servers may record technical logs, including IP addresses and requests, to keep the website running and investigate security or technical problems. These logs are separate from Umami’s audience statistics.
If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you include in your message. We use this information to answer your enquiry and keep it for as long as needed to handle it.
We rely on our legitimate interests in maintaining and improving the archive, keeping it secure and responding to enquiries for these purposes.
Your rights and questions
You can contact contact@steambot-chronicles.com to exercise your applicable data protection rights. These include requesting access to, correction or deletion of your personal information, restricting its use, or objecting to processing based on legitimate interests. This includes identifiable information you provide to us, such as email correspondence.
Our analytics records are not linked to names or email addresses. An approximate visit date or time alone does not reliably establish which records belong to you. We assess each request using the information available. If we cannot reliably associate analytics records with you, we will explain why an individual access, correction or deletion request cannot be fulfilled.
We respond to requests without undue delay, normally within one month.
If you have concerns about how we handle your personal information, you’re welcome to contact us to discuss them. You also have the right to make a complaint to the CNIL, the French data protection authority.
